Early arrival
Especially in crowded periods we recommend to arrive early at Stansted airport, since the security controls are scrupulous and might take long.
Check-in
The maximum time allowed by the various companies to show up at check-in is normally 30-40 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time of the flight. Air companies usually recommend to arrive at least 2 hours before boarding time.
Seats on board
Normally if you travel with low cost companies like Ryanair or Easyjet you don’t get a fixed seat on board, so once you are in the cabin you can seat wherever you like, on a “first-come first-served” basis.
Hand luggage
If your baggage only consists of a small-sized hand luggage, you are allowed to bring it with you into the cabin. In this way, at your arrival you can avoid wasting time at the baggage reclaim. If you are not sure about the size of your luggage, you can make use of the appropriate containers placed in proximity of all check-in desks, where you can size your luggage.
